I work from a small studio at the bottom of my garden, hand-shaping stoneware ceramics made for everyday use.
I’m drawn to the quiet, repetitive nature of making and to the connection that comes from using something shaped by hand.

This is me, usually holding pots and chatting ceramics. I’m always thinking about how a piece will feel in someone’s hands, its weight, balance an how it works in daily life. Every design I make lives in my own home before it leave the studio.

The Origin Collection is a collaboration designed and crafted by Interior designer Saskia Taitt and Ceramicist Rachel Kay.
Our collaboration brings together Rachel’s experience as a ceramic artist and Saskia’s expertise as an interior designer.
We’ve combined a deep understanding of materials and craftsmanship with a strong sense of how objects feel and work within a space, to create a coffee cup collection that is not only beautiful, but that elevates the daily coffee ritual too.

A message from the Executive Chef at Arkle, the 3 AA Rosette restaurant at The Grosvenor Hotel in Chester, led to a commission for hand-shaped bowls now used on their tables.
