The Origin Collection.
My partnership with Interior Designer, Saskia Taitt is driven by a shared respect for craft and a desire to introduce hand-made objects into daily rituals. Together, we’ve created The Origin Collection - a capsule that aspires to embrace a more meaningful way of living & creating.
Our debut collection comprising cups, plates and saucers looks to reshape the ritual of drinking coffee at home. The ceramics evolved over the course of a year from Saskia’s artistic vision for Flat white & Espresso cup shapes. I led the development process and together we refined proportions, handles, and glazes through real-life use.
From a single ball of clay, the cup bodies are hand-pinched, with handles applied separately to create elegant, functional forms. The plates, a nod to Studio Taitt’s logo, are rolled and hand-shaped at the edges. Curvy, modular forms provide versatility, allowing cups to sit in saucers, saucers on plates, or indeed all pieces separately. Exposed stoneware clay invites a tactile connection, encouraging a mindful, grounding drinking experience that celebrates touch, texture and the subtle trace of the makers’ hand.
Together, our creative language merges design insight with ceramic craft to create contemporary stoneware that quietly enriches everyday rituals.
